Update
RIP Iris Apfel. I first really understood Iris Apfel’s impact on fashion when watching Bill Cunningham: New York, a documentary about the man who created the concept of watching street fashion. (It’s an absolutely fascinating documentary and I 200% recommend it.) She had a guest-star-like role in the film, and I could not get over her attitude and stunning, unique style. May we all find it in ourselves to be so bold and imaginative and flippant in our choices, in style and whatever.
I’ve been highly interested in well written profiles about interesting people lately (you may have noticed) — my latest magnificent read in this genre on Isabella Rosselini: “I just play,” she says. “I’m playful. And I became increasingly more playful with age.”
Lisa Frankenstein. Did you see it yet? I’m still thinking about this tragic teen girl, the ruthless chops, and that tanning bed. And… that ending. BIG TIME SPOILERS AT THE LINK.
