The publishing community was shook last week by the announcement that HarperCollins is closing young adult imprint Inkyard. Much of its editorial team was laid off and authors’ upcoming novels with Inkyard were reassigned to new imprints. Authors and agents fear what this will mean for the investment into those releases, and Publishing Twitter (which still exists, somehow) mourned the high quality and diverse rep Inkyard has championed.
